Tal es el caso de la chemical buccal fat removal, a cutting-edge technique that uses enzymes to restore youth to the face. How do they work? Here we tell you.

Three enzymes for rejuvenation

There are three recombinant enzymes that can be applied simultaneously to successfully reduce fat in the submental region during a chemical buccal fat removal:

1. Lipasa

After binding to the corresponding triglyceride, it will convert into a glycerol molecule and three free fatty acid molecules, which will enter the bloodstream to be taken up by tissues for energy.

While human lipase is regulated by hormones such as catecholamines or insulin, and its effect depends on these hormones, recombinant lipase is not sensitive to hormonal regulation, making it highly effective at any time. It will not be inhibited by the action of insulin, regardless of the amount of insulin and sugar in the blood.

2. Colagenasa

In cases where excess collagen needs to be dissolved to help reduce fat content, collagenase is used. It is safe to use this enzyme to dissolve collagen because it no longer provides structural scaffolding.

The removal of these collagen fibers will also promote the activation and proliferation of fibroblasts, which will synthesize new collagen. These new, stronger collagen fibers will provide a tightening effect, restoring firmness and elasticity in the submental area.

3. Hyaluronidase

This enzyme breaks down extracellular polysaccharides, which are responsible for water retention in the extracellular matrix. By breaking down these molecules, hyaluronidase releases trapped fluid that has accumulated in the tissue.

By reducing fluid retention, this enzyme also facilitates the diffusion of other enzymes through the extracellular matrix, helping them reach their site of action.
